THANATOLOGY OF ANDREJ BELYJ. THE ARTICLE 2. RED DOMINO AND CAN

This article is devoted to the mortal motif of Andrej Belyj’s novel «Peterburg». The author of the paper considers that evolution of the mortal motif from «Silver Dove» to «Peterburg» was connected to the weakening of the fable and the effort of importance of the plot. Although the main personages weren’t died the impression of horror has noted by the contemporaries of
Belyj. This impression was conditioned by the change of role of Peterburg background and functions of personages, incorporation of intertextual quotations and the representation of death as semiotical but not existential object. «Peterburg» has determined the limit boundaries of representation of thanatology connected to anthroposophy.
