Abstract
The article analyzes the final episode of the novel «War and peace», the dream of Nikolenka Bolkonsky, in the context of metanarrativ – as the concentration of the main thematic motifs of the novel, archetype of a ambitious personality in European history, metatextual symbolism of weaving, aesthetic perfection and maternal love.
