BIOGRAPHY AS A PLOT: A. VETLUGIN’S «AMERICAN DREAM»

The article reconstructs the American years in the biography of Vladimir Ryndziun (1897–1953) better known as «A. Vetlugin» and a Hollywood producer «Voldemar Vetluguin». The author follows thirty years of Vetluguin’s life (1923–1953), and demonstrates how his decision to move to America and how certain events in his American career were reflected upon in the Russian émigré newspapers.
