in Sergei Alymov’s Novel “Nankin-rod”
This article examines the poetics of Sergei Alymov’s novel “Nankin-rod” (1929) in the context of Far Eastern emigration literature. Drawing on both fiction and modernist literature, Sergei Alymov creates a multidimensional and ambiguous image of Shanghai on the eve of the revolutionary events of 1925.
